Software Features | Security
- Each VIP Inventory Software User is assigned a password. Users cannot use the software unless they know
their password.
- Users are assigned a security group. Security groups have varied levels of access to Menu Bar options.
- Security groups support primary and secondary access restrictions. For example, the cook may generate
a prep list, but not change recipes. Yet the chef may be restricted from removing or changing invoices,
but be allowed to enter new invoices.
- Users are assigned a default data set. For example, a user could be limited to food products, others to
liquor only, yet others to all data sets. Reporting and data selection is limited to the users data set.
- Specific recipes and stock items may be restricted from all manual access.
- All transactions are tracked in a security log. The security log itself is encrypted, and cannot be viewed
in an understandable format by any other software product. The security log details exactly who did what
when.
- A master password is required for specific functions relating to security.
